I haven’t been silent on purpose through the Thanksgiving holiday. In fact I spent about a bit of time writing a post on Thanksgiving night… sharing about our day. I saved it several times as I wrote.. then added a photo. For the first time ever, I lost the entire post. I have no idea how…
That’s not happened before, so i took it as a small sign. Maybe my sharing this time was just for me. There’s no way to recapture the outpouring of my heart.. so I simply let it go.
Thanksgiving ended up being a good day overall. I think the days anticipating it were much more difficult… We were able to spend it quietly together.. just the kids and I. That was the very best decision we could have made.
We shared a wonderful meal, counted our blessings and toasted Peter… whom I have come to understand is truly beloved in many hearts.
I learned that we are still a family… and that Peter is still very much a part of our lives though he is not physically present with us. I can honestly say that it helps tremendously that we know where he is.. He’s simply waiting for us to come home someday.
We also began a new tradition. We each wrote him a letter…
This will go out in the mail. When it arrives at our home it will be tucked away in a special place for each of my children.
Someday, when they’re ready… they’ll read these letters.
We believe that God is a good God. That we are blessed. That Life is good. It is hard… but it is so good!
Blessings to you all~

I was so excited on Friday that my hands were actually trembling. I’d been waiting for this issue of azTeen magazine. This is a local publication that targets the high-school population throughout the greater Phoenix area.
I recently worked with them on an article about high-schoolers that participate in extreme sports. We did an on location photo shoot at a local amusement park called Castles n Coasters. They used one of my images for their feature! It was a pretty exciting feeling to open up the magazine and see this. I felt really honored. Thought maybe Peter was smiling down from heaven. I could almost hear him say…”way to go baby!” That alone, made it all the more special.
So here is the spread in azTeen Magazine:
They also used a teenie, tiny image in the letter from the editor:
Oh… and I want to include the ad they ran for my business marketing to high school Seniors. I LOVE photographing Seniors!
Latley, here’s the TEENY tiny photocredit they added… I had to include that
Thank you azTeen!

I love images that move my towards more creative editing. The truth of the matter is that I used to be a die-hard scrapbooker, something I simply have no time for anymore. But I do love indulging in some digital creativity!
I call this effort Life Art. There is a quote that I love.. that describe how I feel about this. It says “Let YOUR LIFE be the art on your walls.” Photography allows us to decorate our homes with the Art of our own lives! We can celebrate and enjoy this art for years to come. And I will say.. like a one of a kind Picasso… it becomes a priceless treasure!
So… here is Kayli – Life Art
these are so nice. love the way this couple shows the joy! just pure.. thanks for sharing. thinking of you this first day of december..
