You’ve had a preview… now meet Taylor Workman.
Senior – Desert Vista High School – Class of 2011
As you can see, he’s a drummer! A member the Desert Vista Marching Thunder Band and this year’s State Champions! In fact Marching band is what Taylor says he’ll miss most about High School! He’s been a dedicated member for years. Although…. what he does admit that what he will NOT miss about high school is waking up early for those 5:45 am…. YES that’s 5:45 AM practice times during the marching band season! So enjoy sleeping in Taylor! You’ve earned it!
He is heading down south to attend The University of Arizona in Tucson for college! Being a Wildcat runs in his family! We’ll still love you Taylor
After he graduates, what he looks forward to the most is going on tour and playing with “The Academy,” an Arizona performing arts drum corp organization.
Three words Taylor chose to describe himself are:
LOUD, BUSY & Social
What he loves most is performing! He’s been a very solid percussionist for the band!
Something Taylor says he’s really good at is…. PROCRASTINATING with a ha ha at the end of my interview!
Something Taylor admits he has TOO much of, “Mismatched drumsticks!”
Something he CAN”T live without, “My Car.”
Taylor’s idea of a perfect day is… “All Day Drumming!”
His dream job is to become a Music Performer/Educator
Taylor… Wishing you GREAT success in your future with school and music! It’s been an honor to capture this season in your life!!

As my Senior Season gets underway… I realized that I didn’t post my Top 10 favorite 2010 Senior photos. These are images that for me, make it to the top of my list! Either I really like the expression captured, or the lighting or the general feel of the photo.

Meet Keiland Brooks…
Desert Vista High School – Class of 2011!
Keiland is one of those guys that really leave an impression on you! I SO enjoyed having the opportunity to take Senior photos for him! I really loved our shoot. He’s kinda quiet, kinda reserved… then all of a sudden he’ll do something that just would crack me up! Here’s a little about Keiland…
He’s been a member of the Desert Vista marching band for the past three years and finished this season as the section leader for his sousaphone (Tuba) section. The DV Marching Band – or “THUNDER BAND” had a very successful season and took the highest honors at the ASU High School Band Competition, they won the State of Arizona Marching Band Competition, and finished second in the Fiesta Bowl National High School Band Competition. What an amazing way to finish a senior year!
Keiland will be touring through Europe this summer as a selected member of the Arizona Ambassadors. This traveling band will have the opportunity to play in 7 European countries including, England, France, Switzerland, Italy and Germany. I didn’t realize Keiland was going on this trip. My son Colin is actually going as well, so I’ll have an opportunity to see Keiland perform this summer… YAY!! ( yes I’m going!!)
Keiland has also applied himself in the classroom and received an early acceptance to the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point New York. To get his appointment to the academy he not only had to excel in the classroom and demonstrate leadership ability, but he also had to receive a congressional recommendation. Keiland was very honored to receive two congressional recommendations; one from Senator John McCain and the other from Congressman Harry Mitchell. WOW!! He will be obtaining a degree in engineering from the Merchant Marine Academy and hopes to serve his country after his undergraduate years as an Officer in the Navy and will either work on ship designs and/or weaponry.
He is an amazing individual with nothing but a very BRIGHT future! Thank you Keiland – for the chance to capture this important season in your life.. I’m truly honored!
Enjoy the photos
LOVE this one with Mom and Dad!
