Quinter Kansas
January 8, 2012
My kids and I welcomed the New Year in a tiny town called Quinter, Kansas – population approximately 918 people according to Wikipedia. We were visiting our close friends the Ruckman family, Jeff and Jill Ruckman, Jonah and Sydney!
We had an AMAZING time! It was so much fun to see them and to visit a place so COMPLETELY different than Phoenix! Jeff and Jill are very happy newlyweds! You may remember the recent engagement shoot that I posted on my blog back in October:
Jeff and Jill Engagement Session
Well, Jill recently moved from Phoenix to Quinter in October, so for those of you who know and love Jill – I wanted to give you a little glimpse of her new home and town she lives in.
I do LOVE photographing towns and places I’ve had the opportunity to travel to…. Quinter is no exception. It’s a tiny town with a Main Street and a corner family market. It probably stretches about 1 square mile. Outside of that square mile you see endless flat farmland and scattered farms throughout. I thought it was beautiful!! I hope you enjoy some of the photos I’ve taken!
Let me know below in the comments section, which photo is your favorite? I’m curious.
Also – if you’ve been visiting my blog regulary, don’t forget to “like” my photography page on facebook! Here’s the link:

I like the picture with the railroad tracks. The tracks are a strong focal point and leads you right through the flat land and into the sky which can become a place of whatever you believe it to be. Nice perspective…Nice camera angle….Nice eye movement – the image leads you to the sky – sky is the limit – sky is heavan – it is empty…whatever you want it to be. That is a lot of thought … I know … my college degree is from RIT in fine art photography.
