A New Look

April 3, 2012

My blog has needed some freshening up for a LONG time! So FINALLY…. I’ve made a few changes with the help of kimtown – a web designer that offers a ton of different services!

We are on the very last leg of this blog redesign. I just decided to go ahead and take my blog off maintenance mode – so I don’t lose those of you who regularly come to visit my blog! It’s been down for quite sometime and I appreciate your patience with me while we were making it prettier!

So – take a peek around. There are still a few final things to do… so we’re not %100 complete, but I’ll be back to blogging asap!!   So please come back and visit often.

Also – check out my new Splash page as well:  Pati Pakulis Photography

Published in Good Housekeeping Magazine!

January 11, 2011

This was so exciting. I recently photographed a beautiful family who was featured in Good Housekeeping Magazine. The Cheney Family story is honest and inspiring as they face some of the challenges and blessings of adoption, and all that it entails!

I didn’t even realize that the issue was out in the market yet. I was actually standing in line at the grocery store and I noticed Gwenyth Paltrow on the cover. Then I realized it was the FEBRUARY issue. The one issue I’ve been waiting for!!

I will say it was quite a moment to grab the magazine and flip through it with the same excitiment that a child has on Christmas morning. I think I did a tiny Whoo-hoo when I saw it. The ladies in front of me turned around to stare…of course I explained why I was so excited! One lady even bought a copy – wasn’t that sweet?

This was my 2nd paid publication and I’ve gotta say… it felt really great! I feel like it was just a gift from God… a wonderful opportunity, and I am truly grateful!

So here’s a look at the family photo they used for the article.

Published…. for the 1st time!

November 22, 2009

I was so excited on Friday that my hands were actually trembling. I’d been waiting for this issue of azTeen magazine. This is a local publication that targets the high-school population throughout the greater Phoenix area.

I recently worked with them on an article about high-schoolers that participate in extreme sports. We did an on location photo shoot at a local amusement park called Castles n Coasters. They used one of my images for their feature! It was a pretty exciting feeling to open up the magazine and see this. I felt really honored. Thought maybe Peter was smiling down from heaven. I could almost hear him say…”way to go baby!” That alone, made it all the more special.

So here is the spread in azTeen Magazine:

    Hi Pati-

I was saddened to learn from Melissa’s blog about your husband. He looked so good in the photos. She did a fantastic job capturing your beautiful family. You truly do radiate love even amidst the great trial you were undergoing. Because your husband looked so healthy and strong in the photos I was surprised to learn of his passing today again, from Melissa. My heart goes out to you and your children and family. I know the loss is great, but I also sense that your faith is strong and you know that you will one day be together again. Please accept my prayers and love and know that I’ll be thinking of you.–Maria

Kev called me this morning. At sunset I went and sat on the beach, feeling my sorrow deeply, looking at your sweet faces, one by one in my mind’s eye, embracing each one of you, hoping you might have felt hugs in hush of wind, from across the miles. The ocean took my tears, Pati, and I might have cried it full.
Deep condolences from me to you, Alyssa, Julia and Colin.
    Love,
    Anne
