Here’s a bit of random information for you for the New Year!
So whenever I am getting my studio lights set up for a shoot – or practicing some different types of studio lighting techniques, I usually need a model.
My kids are pretty great about helping me, but they often get tired of sitting there having their picture taken, so I had to find a solution.
Meet my practice Monkey. He is the best! He will sit still for as long as I need… and just keep smiling!
He’s a great little model!
I just thought you ought to know how amazingly resourceful I can be…

So I just finished one CRAZY busy holiday season! Lots of shooting, lots of edits and LOTS of hours on a computer. My neck is living proof – still sore and I actually had to spend one full day with a heating pad applied directly to the back of my neck. Ugh! Occupational hazard I guess. Anyway – so now I get to sort of breathe… and slow down, and actually enjoy the holidays with my kids.
One thing I DO love doing is reflecting. I love looking at the past year – the photos I have taken and I love picking out my favorites.
So for the next few days through the end of the year, that’s what I’ll be doing, sharing some favorites images with you.
The first two images that I’m starting off with could very well be my two favorite images of all of 2011!
Little Aciana and Evan – two of the sweetest children that I get the opportunily to photograph. Both of the moments captured below were just priceless for me.
